NEXT Public Affairs Launch Announcement Featured in Politico
GOOD AS GOLD: After more than two decades, one of Chicago’s most influential public affairs and communications firms, Resolute Consulting, is losing one of its founders – and with him, a core function of the business.
Starting anew: Greg Goldner, who helped build Resolute into a powerhouse at the intersection of business, politics and government, is departing to launch NEXT Public Affairs, a new strategic advisory firm focused on public affairs, policy strategy and reputation management. Goldner said the firm is designed to help clients navigate complex political, regulatory and public-facing challenges.
The backstory: Founded in 2002, Resolute grew into a prominent player in Chicago and Illinois politics. It led the “Keep Chicago Affordable” campaign that opposed Chicago’s real estate transfer tax referendum backed by Mayor Brandon Johnson. The measure was defeated in 2024 and became one of the city’s highest-profile political battles. Years before that, Resolute helped run the “Can the Tax” campaign against the Cook County sweetened beverage tax.
